12. Saint Lucia Kings – 2024
After finishing as runners-up in 2020 and 2021, the Saint Lucia Kings secured their maiden CPL title in 2024 under Faf du Plessis’ captaincy. They finished second in the group stage, defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1, and triumphed over them again in the final. Noor Ahmad was instrumental in their success, taking 22 wickets throughout the tournament and playing a key role in the franchise’s historic victory.
11. Guyana Amazon Warriors – 2023
After finishing as runners-up five times, the Guyana Amazon Warriors claimed their maiden CPL title in 2023 under captain Imran Tahir. Shai Hope, with 481 runs, and Dwaine Pretorius, who took 20 wickets, were standout performers. The Warriors finished the group stage on top but lost Qualifier 1 to Trinbago Knight Riders. They bounced back by defeating Jamaica Tallawahs in Qualifier 2, then dominated the final, defeating the Knight Riders by nine wickets. Pretorius was named Player of the Match in both Qualifier 2 and the final.
10. Jamaica Tallawahs – 2022
Jamaica Tallawahs secured their third CPL title in 2022 under the leadership of Rovman Powell. Despite finishing the group stage in fourth place, they defeated Saint Lucia Kings in the Eliminator and Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 2 to reach the final. In the final, they triumphed over Barbados Royals by eight wickets. Fabian Allen was named Player of the Match for his brilliant 3/24 performance, playing a key role in their victory.
9. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots – 2021
After losing the 2017 CPL final, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots clinched their maiden title in 2021 under new captain Dwayne Bravo. The Patriots finished third in the group stage, then defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets in the semi-finals. In a thrilling final, they triumphed over Saint Lucia Kings by three wickets, securing victory on the last ball of the match.
8. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2020
Trinbago Knight Riders secured a record fourth CPL title in 2020 under the leadership of Kieron Pollard, who also won the Player of the Tournament award. The Knight Riders were undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all 10 league matches and comfortably advancing through the knockouts. In the semi-final, they defeated Jamaica Tallawahs by nine wickets. In the final, they triumphed over St Lucia Zouks by eight wickets, with Pollard contributing 4/30 and Lendl Simmons playing a match-winning knock of 84* off 49 balls.
7. Barbados Royals – 2019
Jason Holder led Barbados Tridents (now Barbados Royals) to their second CPL title in 2019. After finishing second in the league stage, they lost Qualifier 1 to Guyana Amazon Warriors. However, in Qualifier 2, they defeated defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders by 12 runs to advance to the final. In a rematch with Guyana, Barbados triumphed by 27 runs to clinch the title. Jonathan Carter (50* off 27) and Raymond Reifer (4/24) were key performers in their victory.
6. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2018
Trinbago Knight Riders, under Dwayne Bravo, became the first team to successfully defend their CPL title in 2018. They finished the group stage at the top for the second consecutive season. Although TKR lost Qualifier 1 to Guyana Amazon Warriors, they advanced to the final by winning Qualifier 2 against St. Kitts and Nevis. In the final, they defeated Guyana by eight wickets to win their third title, with Colin Munro playing a standout role, scoring 68* off 39 balls.
5. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2017
Dwayne Bravo became the second captain after Chris Gayle to lead a franchise to two CPL titles, guiding Trinbago Knight Riders to victory in the 2017 season. The Knight Riders finished the group stage at the top but lost Qualifier 1 to St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. They bounced back by winning the Eliminator against Guyana Amazon Warriors to reach the final. In the final, TKR defeated St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots by three wickets, with Kevon Cooper contributing with both ball (2/12) and bat (29* off 14).
4. Jamaica Tallawahs – 2016
In the 2016 CPL season, Jamaica Tallawahs, led by Chris Gayle, made history by becoming the first team and captain to win two CPL titles. After finishing second in the group stage, the Tallawahs lost Qualifier 1 to Guyana Amazon Warriors but advanced to the final by defeating Trinbago Knight Riders by 19 runs in Qualifier 2, with Andre Russell smashing a 44-ball 100. In the final, Gayle’s 54 off 27 and Imad Wasim’s 3/21 helped the Tallawahs secure a nine-wicket victory over Guyana.
3. Trinbago Knight Riders – 2015
Trinbago Knight Riders, then known as Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel, won their maiden CPL title in the 2015 season under the captaincy of Dwayne Bravo. They finished third in the group stage and advanced to the final by defeating Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors in the playoffs. In the final, they overcame defending champions Barbados Tridents by 20 runs, with Kamran Akmal playing a key role, scoring 60 off 46 balls.
2. Barbados Royals – 2014
Barbados Royals, then known as Barbados Tridents, won their maiden CPL title in the 2014 edition under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard. They finished at the top of the group stage and advanced directly to the final. In a closely contested final, they defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors by just eight runs. Dwayne Smith was the top scorer for Barbados, making 59 runs off 52 balls in the victory.
