A complaint has been filed against Virat Kohli in connection with the Bengaluru stampede case. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise held a victory celebration at M Chinnaswamy Stadium after their team won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 trophy. However, the celebration turned tragic when a stampede near the stadium resulted in the deaths of 11 people.
According to reports, 47 others were injured in the incident. The victory event was organized by RCB, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and DNA Entertainment. Consequently, Bengaluru police have filed a complaint against these parties.
Additionally, police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case: one RCB employee and two employees of DNA Entertainment. Virat Kohli, They have been charged under sections 105, 118, and 120 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal negligence.
Bengaluru Activist Files Complaint Against Virat Kohli

A Bengaluru activist named HM Venkatesh has filed a complaint against Virat Kohli regarding the recent tragedy. He registered the case at Cubbon Park Police Station and held Kohli responsible for the incident. As a result, the police have included the complaint against Kohli in the ongoing investigation.
Virat Kohli returned to London on Thursday from Mumbai Airport. Following the incident, he expressed his condolences to the victims on social media. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise also mourned the loss and announced financial support of INR 10 lakh for the families of the 11 fans who lost their lives.
The Karnataka state government has offered compensation of INR 10 lakh to each victim’s family, along with medical assistance. Meanwhile, RCB won the title on June 3, and the players arrived in Bengaluru on June 4 to celebrate their victory.
Virat Kohli, They were honored by the Karnataka Chief Minister and other leaders at Vidhan Soudha. The RCB players were also felicitated inside the stadium. However, a stampede broke out near the stadium gates during the celebrations.
It is worth noting that the M Chinnaswamy Stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. However, four to five times that number gathered at the stadium to witness the victory celebrations and catch a glimpse of their favorite players.
