A woman from Ghaziabad has lodged an FIR against Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal, accusing him of sexual exploitation, physical assault, mental harassment, and cheating by making false promises of marriage.
According to the complaint, the woman claims she was mentally and physically abused by Dayal under the guise of a future marriage.
She initially reported the matter on June 14 via the women’s helpline. Subsequently, she escalated the complaint by filing it through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal, IGRS.
Woman Files FIR Against Yash Dayal Alleging Five-Year Relationship and Deceit
Yash Dayal, the left-arm pacer who played a key role for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025, has found himself embroiled in controversy off the field. A woman has filed a complaint against the 27-year-old cricketer, alleging that they were in a relationship for five years during which he emotionally, mentally, and physically exploited her under the false pretense of marriage.
In her statement, the woman claimed that Dayal introduced her to his family as their future daughter-in-law, which led her to fully trust him. “For the last five years, I was in a relationship with a cricketer. He made me believe we would get married and introduced me to his family accordingly. This made me emotionally invested and vulnerable,” the complaint reads.
She further alleged that Dayal manipulated her into becoming emotionally and financially dependent on him. Over time, she discovered that he was allegedly involved in similar relationships with other women. She claims to possess chats, screenshots, video call recordings, and photos to support her allegations.
A senior police officer from Uttar Pradesh confirmed that an FIR has been lodged against Dayal at the Indirapuram police station under Section 69 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including false promises of marriage.
“An FIR under BNS Section 69 has been registered against Yash Dayal (27). The matter is currently under investigation,” the officer told PTI.
On the professional front, Dayal was last seen playing in IPL 2025, where he was part of the RCB squad that won the title. He claimed 13 wickets in 15 matches during the tournament. In domestic cricket, he represents Uttar Pradesh.
