Cricket Australia Awards 2025: Celebrating the Best in Australian Cricket
Although Australia did not secure any ICC titles in 2024, the team achieved several significant milestones. The Men’s team reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) after a decade and also secured a Test series victory over New Zealand earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, the Women’s team dominated international cricket, completing a 3-0 ODI series whitewash against India in India and finishing the year with a commanding Ashes whitewash against England.
On the domestic front, Western Australia continued their stronghold in Australian cricket, clinching both the Sheffield Shield and the Marsh Cup in the 2023-24 season. In the Big Bash Leagues, the Hobart Hurricanes lifted the BBL 2024-25 title, while the Melbourne Renegades triumphed in the WBBL 2024-25.
The year also saw the rise of several promising talents. Sam Konstas made a remarkable Test debut against India at the MCG, while Cooper Connolly impressed in domestic cricket. In the women’s game, Georgia Voll emerged as one of the most exciting young prospects to watch.
