Harmanpreet Kaur to Lead Mumbai Indians in WPL 2025
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 is set to kick off on February 14, 2025. The first two seasons of the tournament saw Mumbai Indians (MI) win the title in 2023, followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2024.
WPL 2025 will feature five teams: Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, UP Warriorz, and Gujarat Giants.
MI had a strong showing in WPL 2024, finishing second in the league stage with 10 points from five wins in eight matches. However, their journey ended in the eliminator against RCB.
MI will begin their WPL 2025 campaign on February 15 against Delhi Capitals at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who captained the side in WPL 2024, was pivotal to their success, scoring 268 runs in seven matches at an average of 53. Nat Sciver-Brunt was also outstanding, taking 10 wickets during the season.
Mumbai Indians Venues for WPL 2025
Mumbai Indians will compete at four venues in WPL 2025: Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. They will start with two league matches in Vadodara, then move to Bengaluru for the next three. The team will play one game in Lucknow before finishing their league stage with two matches in Mumbai.
