After being put in to bat, India got off to a solid start as openers Smriti Mandhana (31) and Pratika Rawal (23) added 48 runs for the first wicket under challenging conditions. Pakistan fought back with regular breakthroughs, but Harleen Deol (46) held the innings together with crucial support from Harmanpreet Kaur (19) and Jemimah Rodrigues (32). India were 159 for five at one stage before Sneh Rana (20) and Deepti Sharma (25) steadied the innings with a 42-run stand.
The finishing touch came from Richa Ghosh, who played a blistering unbeaten knock of 35 to take India to a competitive total of 247. Diana Baig was the standout performer for Pakistan with figures of 4 wickets.
In reply, Pakistan endured a disastrous start as Muneeba Ali was run out for 2 in a controversial fashion. Indian pacers Renuka Thakur and Kranti Gaud then ripped through the top order, reducing Pakistan to 26 for three.
Sidra Amin (81) and Natalia Parvez (33) offered some resistance with a gritty 69-run partnership, but India struck back quickly to regain control. Despite Sidra’s valiant effort, Pakistan’s innings crumbled, and they were bowled out for 159.
Kranti Gaud was India’s best bowler, claiming three wickets for just 20 runs, as India sealed a comprehensive 88-run win to continue their unbeaten campaign.
